As a Patient Billing Representative, you would be crucial to our mission because you would be billing patients for medical services rendered in our facilities and collecting overdue payments, so we have revenue coming in. What would you do as a Patient Billing Representative?

This position focuses its time and effort on the following duties, though others may be required:

  • Communicate with patients and insurance companies to obtain status updates, appeal claims, resolve outstanding patient balances and obtain information regarding billing or payment;
  • Use an electronic medical records system to determine the tasks/appeals needing review;
  • One week out of every four, answer phone calls that come into the call center to assist patients and resolve billing issues;
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance to minimize impacts to workflow.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

Education/Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED;

Experience

  • One year of experience performing customer service duties;
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with various levels of employees, outside entities and customers;
  • Deescalating tense or sensitive conversations with customers/clients/etc.;
  • Reviewing work and checking for errors to ensure accuracy.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment.

Physical: The noise level is usually moderate. This position primarily sits at a workstation.

Schedule: Typical shifts are 8 hours with schedule up to manager discretion.
