Hybrid - Only in the office on Wednesdays and the other days during the week are working remotely.
Job Purpose:
  • Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for functions relating to payroll tax utilizing ADP Payroll Tax Services for multiple-EIN?s, operating in multi-states environments, and assisting with acquisitions and mergers to ensure compliance with all federal, state, province, and local tax authorities.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compliance with all federal, state, province, and local tax regulations for the US, Puerto Rico & Canada.
  • Ability to research, analyze and provide recommendations to tax tickets.
  • Analyze and reconcile tax accounts every month comparing to the quarterly balancing reports working to identify and resolve variances.
  • Resolve all tax jurisdictional issues within 2 weeks of the findings on the ADP Periodic Reports utilizing ADP Registration Services as needed to obtain new payroll tax accounts.
  • Process tax adjustments and amendments as well as create process documentation.
  • Preparing, remitting, and filing returns not supported by ADP Payroll Tax Service on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
  • Timely coordinate tax notices from federal, state, and local tax agencies with ADP Tax Services for research and resolution.
  • Handle incoming tax agency refunds; coordinate backup and coding with the GL & AR teams.
  • Support incoming payroll tax tickets & inquiries from customers, acknowledging receipt of and timely feedback meeting SLA with exceptional customer service.
  • Audit online HR Reports each pay period to ensure accurate tax setups for home address changes, location address changes, new hires, transfers, and Visas/EADs.
  • Process tax setups related to VISAs & EADs.
  • Process employee tax setups for the local, school district, and LST taxes, as needed.
  • Provide support during Payroll processing for tax errors & issues.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Special projects, as needed.
  • Serve as backup to Payroll Tax Analyst.
Qualifications:
  • Requires an undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or American Payroll Association FPC or CPP certification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years continuous full-time payroll tax experience working with multiple EINs, multi-state US, Puerto Rico, and Canada payroll taxes.
  • Functional knowledge of internal controls and compliance protocols.
Specialized Knowledge
  • Payroll tax regulations at Federal, State, Province, and Local levels; ADP GlobalView, SmartCompliance & Reporting Tools; Microsoft Excel with strong skills in V-Lookup & Pivot Tables, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at varied levels; analytical, detailed, and resourceful.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast pace changing environment.
  • Manage projects to communicate progress and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information handled.
