Pediatric ED Nurses Needed in Syracuse, NY

Overall Assignment Amount: $41,306
Overall Weekly Amount: $3,162+
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13-week assignment
3 - 12 hour shifts are available
Nightshift 7p-7a
Pediatrics Nurse Requirements:
  • Licensure: Active New York license or can submit with any state license (must apply for temp and perm NY license at offer)
  • Certification: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, and NIHSS required
  • Experience: 2 years
  • Specialty equipment: Alaris IV pumps, kangaroo tube feed pumps, Phillips tele monitors, avasure (cameras for sitter patients), Masmio pulse oximeter, Galielo vents

Pediatrics Nurse Benefits:

36 Hour Option:

Overall Assignment Amount: $41,306

Overall Weekly Amount: $3,162+

  • $55.75/hr and $83.62hr overtime. Weekly Taxable: $2,007

  • Weekly Per Diem: $448 ($59/day)

  • Weekly Housing: $707 ($98/day)

  • Weekly nontaxable Stipends: $1,155 ($448 per diem + $707 lodging)

Pediatrics Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Working with children and asking questions about their health for diagnosis and documenting patients' symptoms and medical history for the doctor.
  • Assessing a child's needs and providing initial care.
  • Identifying changes in children's symptoms and intervening in emergency situations.
  • Participating in pain management for children.
  • Administering medications, drawing blood, and giving childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines.
  • Monitoring temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure and keeping accurate records.
  • Evaluating children for signs and symptoms of abuse.
  • Providing supportive care to dying children.
  • Dealing with the anxieties and demands of parents, and helping families to deal with their child's illness or injury.
  • Remaining up to date on the latest developments, rules, and regulations, drug therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures.
