Title: Pharmacy Technician Location: San Francisco CA Duration: 13 Weeks Assignment Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pmincludes a 30 min break Job Summary - All Pharmacy Technicians are accountable to the outpatient manager or operating pharmacist who is legally responsible by virtue of state licensure for the care and safety of patients served by Pharmaceutical Services.
- The Pharmacy Technician performs all activities related to traditional pharmacy prescription dispensing and medication distribution.
- They may also participate in the computer entries of medications and prescriptions, including entries of specialty medications in the patient profile as directed by a pharmacist.
Required Qualifications - One-year experience in a Specialty Pharmacy and/or in a retail/community pharmacy; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing
- Completion of a recognized/accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
- Good communication, both over telephone and in person
- Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with a large, diverse population
- including maintaining good relationship between Pharmacy and Ambulatory clinics
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment and work under constant pressure
- Ability to use good judgment in responding to or referring questions by nurses, physicians, and other professional personnel
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform basic computer entries
- Basic math skills
Requirements: - Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
- Required to work every other weekend and flexible with their scheduling and available to work all shifts, as needed, per the needs of the dept.
- CA license. BLS. Completion of accredit Pharm Tech program,
- Experience in a Hospital and/or a retail/community pharmacy (link removed) Pharmacy/I.V. Additives preferred.
