Nestled next to the Uinta National Forest in the southern Wasatch Range, Discovery Ranch for Boys is a residential treatment center. We are relationship-based and use experiential therapy.

As our PE Teacher, you will provide physical education instruction to a diverse student body in the unique setting of a residential treatment ranch. Our students come from all across the country and globe and are facing a number of challenges, such as emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders. The classes you design will help students learn to care for and appreciate their bodies, develop confidence, and promote an enduring commitment to an active lifestyle.

Duties include:

• Facilitate 3 PE classes daily
• Structure PE units connected with Utah State curriculum
• Promote healthy lifestyle
• Organize and track students PE Progress

We need an engaged, creative, and dedicated teacher who sees the value in our students and will help them see it too as they continue their education. Healthy relationships, novel and challenging experiences, and a strengths-based approach are how we foster the healing process and create lasting change, and this happens just as much in the classroom as anywhere else.

Requirements

Please note: your resume should include education, work experience, certifications, and licenses

• 21+ years of age or older
• Bachelors in Physical Education, either working toward or already earned
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
• Able to pass criminal investigation background check
• Able to pass motor vehicle record check
• Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
• 1st Aid & CPR certified (we may provide)
• ICC certified (we may provide)

Preferred

• Utah State Certificated PE Teacher
