• Reviews physicians referral (prescription) and patients condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
• Tests and measures patients strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs, then provides written treatment program based on findings.
• Administers modalities, gait trains with A.D. and S.A.D. and Prostheses, exercises and home exercise program provided to patient and family.
• Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Records treatment, response, and progress in patients chart.
• Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served; obtains and interprets information in terms of the patients needs; demonstrates a knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatments needed by these patients to include infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in an American Physical Therapy Association

accredited Physical Therapy program. Experience preferred.

• Must hold a current Texas License in Physical Therapy and should be eligible for professional affiliation in the American Physical Therapy Association.
