Responsibilities - Install, assemble, and maintain various types of piping systems, including HVAC, steam, water, and gas pipes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation of piping systems.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
- Select and prepare pipe fittings, such as valves, elbows, and flanges, for installation.
- Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other testing equipment.
- Repair and replace defective or damaged pipes, valves, and fittings.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure effective coordination and completion of projects.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized Pipe Fitter apprenticeship program.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license.
