Summary:

The Plant Maintenance Engineer has overall responsibility for the daily repair and preventative maintenance of industrial textile processing equipment and facility. Leadership qualities are highly desirable as the Plant Maintenance Engineer will supervise a team of maintenance technicians. You and your team will improve functionality and reliability of all production and facility equipment including but not limited to start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, HVAC, water/wastewater processing or other systems machinery.

Essential Functions:


  •  Create and implement preventive equipment maintenance schedule.

  •  Perform root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/ failures, take required corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions.

  •  Track utility consumption data, prepare reports, propose/ implement corrective actions or solutions for cost control.

  •  Maintenance management experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management and with maintenance management systems.

  •  Maintain coordination with production department to resolve equipment breakdowns and other production related opportunities.

  •  Develops and implements safety processes and procedures.

  •  Select, hire, develop and educate Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Workers.

  •  Coach team to improve performance. 

  •  Hold technicians accountable for meeting goals established by the branch.

     


Skills/Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience repairing industrial processing equipment in an industrial environment or in the military.

  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory/leadership experience.

  • Equipment knowledge: electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications, mechanical, HVAC, water/wastewater.

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase 230 volt systems.

  • PLC programming experience.

  • Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding and general facilities repair.

  •  Must be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement.

  •  Ability to read maintenance literature printed in English.

  •  Must possess current and valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

     


Education: 


  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Some locations may require relevant certifications, boiler license or PLC programming.






Typical Daily Activity:


  • Fast-paced environment that may require some irregular or long hours.

  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, driving a forklift, grasping, moving equipment, pushing, pulling, moving loader carts weighing up to 500 lbs., reading, speaking, hearing, and lifting up to 60 pounds.

  • Working inside and outside areas of typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, noise, odors, humidity, lint and dust, in general offices or on outside grounds.
