**This role is Hybrid, within the central Austin, TX area. Candidates must live in and be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship not available**

The premium audit technician holds a dual role assisting audit team and supervisor with administrative tasks and develop understanding of audit processes & procedures. Conducts review of vendor audit reports for accuracy and conduct audits of lesser complexity.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Provide a high level of service while resolving customer inquiries and assisting customers in completing audits.
  • Maintain log of outgoing and incoming audits. Review credit statements and process insured refunds in a timely manner
  • Maintain Inboxes for Service American and Service Lloyds, respond to requests for information and documentation.
  • Close overdue audits and communicate with underwriting and agency regarding noncompliant audits.
  • Work with compliance department to provide records for test audits, including working with program managers to obtain necessary records for audit handled outside audit department.
  • Download and add vendor audits to inventory,
  • Review vendor invoices and submit for payment.
  • Complete premium audit training courses
  • Increase knowledge of premium audit guidelines and procedures by conducting less complex audit.
  • Review vendors audits for accuracy and complete in system.
  • Work closely with the underwriting and marketing department providing updated information/audit result and assist on questions or audit disputes.
  • Work closely with the underwriting and marketing department.
  • Responsible for the relationship management of the audits with the agent of record and insureds.
  • Work in collaboration with the audit supervisor/manager.
  • Responsible for processing workload according to the audit guidelines.
  • Responsible for maintaining a current workload according to audit guidelines.
  • Summarize audit information using industry and governmental rules and regulations.
  • Communicates audit decisions regarding new and renewal policies to agents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Initiates the assistance of the underwriter and or audit supervisor/manager when needed to complete the audit review of a policy.
  • Maintains agency/insureds relationships.
  • Maintain a high degree of trust through demonstrated personal integrity and ethical behavior.

Requirements

  • Property and Casualty insurance knowledge including workers compensation.
  • Understanding of accounting and workers compensation coverage knowledge for all states.
  • Familiar with the insurance operations for underwriting and marketing.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner through all means.
  • Documentation of decision processes.
  • Personal planning, organizing, and working to deadlines.
  • Relationship Management for both agents and insureds.
  • Decision making during the audit process.
  • Communication with their internal and external customers.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present subjects clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and to interact tactfully and effectively in difficult situations.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with supervisor, peers and clients is critical.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Skill in use of 10-key calculator.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook etc.) with a higher skillset of Excel functions.
  • At least up to 3 years of experience in the insurance industry or closely related discipline.
  • Be able to analyze and compare policyholders financial reconciliations, payroll records and claim information.
  • Apply the Basic Manual Rules, Classification to information obtained from audits.
  • Assist agents, insureds and underwriters on any issues that may come up.
