Our Principal Consultants are our most skilled analytics practitioners who are partnered with a small number of our very largest and most complex clients. The role requires qualifying clients that are heavy users of our panel data and repeat buy our analytics solutions for a wide range of applications. Therefore, we're looking for a creative insight practitioner who can confidently navigate complex client needs and multiple stakeholders. The role will also partner with a dedicated client service account team and will draw on support from our wider analytics team
A core part of the role involves working with a small group of major FMCG manufacturers who own portfolios of famous brands across multiple categories. These clients represent significant portions of our UK revenue and hence delivering great insight that makes a genuine difference is of utmost importance.

What youll be doing

Operating across a broad range of elements from pitching and proposing solutions, project design, project management, analysis of data, report preparation and in-person delivery.
Meeting an analytics revenue target. To do this you will work in close partnership with the appropriate account teams to enact strategies and encourage behaviours that increase analytics lead generation. Responding to client business questions you will write proposals and pitch our solutions.
Partnering with our team of data scientists and solution experts to design, propose, and deliver projects across the entire range of our capability portfolio. This covers marketing, trade and strategic applications. Solutions might draw on data from any of our consumer panels and will cover work on a wide range of FMCG brands and categories. Datasets will include a mix of shopper transactions, consumer usage and survey-sourced opinions. All drawn from our proprietary, continuous panels.
As a trusted advisor, you will build our organisational reputation with clients to ensure their repeat business. At times, you will need to innovate new approaches to respond to specific client questions.
As an active and senior member of our analytics team, drawing on your experiences of working with our biggest clients to help us drive innovation or promote thought leadership.

The skills & experience needed

Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills. A strong capability in analysing and interpreting complex shopper data to solve problems and test hypotheses.An ability to have intelligent and productive discussions with data scientists as you design and build solutions together. (Note: we do not expect you to be a data scientist or an expert in statistics).
Experience that covers UK FMCG Insights. This means familiarity with continuous data providers and common research approaches used in the industry. Good knowledge of manufacturing business functions and their activities (e.g. marketing teams, category, trade etc).
Excellent insight creation skills and able to play the role of a trusted advisor. As an influence to others, explaining complexity and distilling the key insights through clear and logical thinking are critical skills in this role. We're looking for open and curious to learn individuals who always ground recommendations in evidence not supposition.
Excellent communications skills, able to manage board-level stakeholders or inspire junior colleagues both internally and client side. Part of this role will be to answer question briefs and get to the central questions underpinning them.
Good commercial acumen, including being able to convince clients to adopt your proposals, adapting your pitch and pricing to the appropriate circumstances. Being comfortable in working towards a revenue budget whilst balancing the interests of the client and the Kantar business are critical skills.
