The Principal Product Manager is responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from work from internal and external development and engineering teams. The Principal Product Manager will be a conduit to internal and airline/partner stakeholders, as well as other Product Managers to define and prioritize features in the product backlog. They will work directly with the Product and Executive Leaders on the overall backlog and vision definition and planning activities. They are an outcome focused individual with a passion for bettering inflight experience for airlines and travelers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead ideation efforts, technical development, and launches of innovative IFEC products and services
  • Establish and take ownership of a shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to execution
  • Lead Product Management teams to gather and transform business and airline needs into product requirements efficiently
  • Drive platform development with a team of world-class engineers, product designers, and cross-functional partners
  • Develop short-term and long-term product roadmaps and communicate to customers as required
  • Ensure products that are being created have the long-term operational plan defined
  • Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into platform requirements to enhance user satisfaction
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
  • Understand the IFEC, Consumer Technology, and Entertainment Technology market
  • Understand our strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry and capture the voice of the customer
  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
  • Pitch to Executive Stakeholders at regular Product Steering Committees
  • Measure the financial and market success of product rollouts through data-driven score cards where applicable
  • Own business cases and drive new sales opportunities
  • Ownership and accountability of a Product line P&L
  • Mentor other Product Managers

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field; MBA highly preferred
  • 15+ years of experience working in Product Management or Product Development
  • Aircraft System engineering experience
  • Background in system architecture with OEM alignment
  • Technical expertise of distribution systems (power and/or data)
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Senior level experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Product Management tools such as A-Ha, JAMA, Jira and wireframing software
  • Specialized Product Education highly desired
  • Demonstrated launch and success of influential products

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $129,000 to 171,000 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
