What Youll Be Doing:

Amogy is seeking a Process Safety Engineer who will support various activities performed in Amogys current and future laboratories, including design of new laboratories, and implementing continuous improvements. This role will manage existing equipment or design new equipment/systems based on process safety principles to ensure compliance with building codes, fire codes and other regulations set by local authority having jurisdiction.

  • Plan, design, and execute process equipment and systems according to established safety requirements and operating procedures
  • Perform design and oversee the installation and testing of new process equipment or systems including development of controls and their integration with the existing data acquisition and control system
  • Create and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams for all laboratory and pilot plant facilities
  • Implement proper engineering designs for process safety in facilities
  • Serve as the interface between Amogys facilities team and construction trades such as pipe fitters, electricians, HVAC, plumbing, carpenters, among others
  • Participate as part of a team to oversee function and upkeep of plant utility systems to ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Set up process safety and risk management related processes and procedures
  • Coordinate, facilitate and participate in process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOPs, PSSR and other process safety related studies
  • Coordinate with all the stakeholders and ensure that all process safety information is in place before scheduling (PHA) or other risk management workshop
  • Develop engineering solutions to control and mitigate risks
  • Document work in detailed technical memos and reports and provide training to staff, when necessary, through presentations, on-the-job training, and development of operating procedures

Requirements

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Masters degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in managing chemical plant projects, R&D facility development, oil and gas industry related projects or pilot plant projects
  • Working experience with process safety and risk management procedures
  • Capable of interpreting P&ID and MEP drawings
  • Demonstrated understanding of HAZOPS, PSSR, PHA
  • Should have participated and have actively provided the input in process safety related workshops
  • Operations experience is a plus
  • Professional licenses are a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills
