We are looking for a product designer, app platforms for a daily newspaper and podcast company.About the Role: Product Designer position for the App Platforms team. The team enables cross-app development and centralizes mobile technology. Designers support shared user experiences and foundational systems. This is a full-time temporary role for 6-8 months. Remote-friendly role. Responsibilities: Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and product teams. Support iOS and Android platforms while informing web-based experiences. Identify user challenges and incorporate findings into design decisions. Ensure quality and consistency of shipped features with engineering partners. Learn and sharpen design skills from experienced designers. Contribute to team collaboration and consistency. Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design deliverables. Produce design documentation to drive conversations and consensus. Refine product ideas into multiple solutions and approaches. Maintain design quality and consistency across the user experience. Contribute to team and product design rituals. RequirementsBasic Qualifications: 3+ years of experience designing digital web or app products. Portfolio showcasing design process and finished work. Proficiency in digital design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Invision). Strong communication skills for explaining design decisions. Understanding of technologies used in modern digital experiences. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work with different levels of fidelity. Experience designing accessible user experiences, especially for mobile. Familiarity with design systems to maintain quality and consistency. Enthusiasm for iOS and Android design best practices.
