Job Title: Product Designer UI

Location: New york city, NY

Summary

Client is seeking a Product Designer with impeccable UI and interaction design skills for mobile apps and web. You will help evolve our design system toward crafting innovative, effective and beautiful solutions across our news and lifestyle experiences. Your impact is significant as you will touch projects from concept to highly refined visual and interactive design.

Roles & Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with a team of Product Designers toexplore new concepts and build a new design language for our mobile product to elevate the experience
Collaborate with the research team on user testing interactive prototypes in Figma to validate user comprehension and eliminate friction
Ensure meticulously detailed delivery of final renderings with functional prototypes and documentation for development handoffs
Collaborate with the design team on adding, managing and updating components in our design system in Figma
Participate in thorough critique sessions with product and design leads and peers
Collaborate closely with the engineering teams, communicating with clarity, understanding and bringing a flexibility within their agile process

Minimum Qualifications

A portfolio of your work
3+ years' experience in Product design, preferably in content publishing
BA/BFA with a design focus
Fluency with design and prototyping tools such as Filmland Protopie
Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Successful experiences shipping products
A great aesthetic sensibility
A fluency in iOS and Android standards and best practices
Empathy and a solid understanding of design thinking and design sprint process
Meticulous attention to detail while not losing sight of the larger mission
A passion for crafting innovative, usable and delightful products
Experience with design systems and specifically in Figma
Experience and understanding of the content publishing space ideally in a newsroom environment
