Product Development Engineer



Appleton, WI



$70-100K plus 10% bonus



Our client is looking to fill a Product Development Engineer role in their Appleton, WI area location.  This Engineer will drive and contribute to programs, providing solutions valued by customers and driving profitable growth.  Work may include research, applications development, materials enhancements, process improvement and/or cost-out initatives.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Recommend, design, develop and implement products and/or processes in line with customer/market needs.

  • Represent the company’s technical voice as well as internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Stay on top of technology changes and trends.

  • Help drive critical to quality specifications.

  • Use problem-solving skills and methodologies such as Technical Research, Technical Library and Networking.

  • Lead and support programs.

  • Plan, execute and analyze production trails with design of experiment, lean six sigma and statistical analysis methodology.

  • Ensure proper documentation of work.

  • Lead technical process developments and improvements in order to generate new technology.

  • Collaborate with areas such as Engineering, Operations and Quality to resolve technical challenges and support solutions.

  • Participate on new capital project teams.



Job Qualifications:




  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Polymer Science.

  • 5-8 years technical experience, preferably in a manufacturing R&D or Process role across multiple technical processes.

  • Manufacturing experience is required.

  • Food packaging or flexible packaging experience is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage design choices positively impacting market position.

  • Experience leading product and process development projects with demonstrated sustained results.

  • Demonstrated experience in multiple technologies/processes leveraged to deliver value to the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply tools within Project Management, Design of Experiment, Design for Lean Six Sigma and Statistical Analysis.
