Product Managers help our clients accomplish their goals by delivering exceptional products through the planning and execution of quality digital solutions. This starts with understanding the problems that need to be solved and making sure the product team stays focused on solving them. They need to see the whole picture from concept to delivery by understanding our clients strategic goals and product requirements, defining features and implementation details, and prioritizing the phases of the build to ensure delivery of the highest quality product.

This position reports to the Director of Product

Salary Band: $96,000 - $122,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the cross-functional team, closely aligned with the Project Manager and Technical Lead.
  • Clearly understand and embrace the business vision, strategic goals, and functional requirements for the digital product. Coordinate with members of the cross-functional project team to build a product that delivers on the product goals and within the project scope.
  • Manage a detailed Jira roadmap, aligning with the product roadmap, through ongoing definition and documentation of sprints, epics, features, components, and tasks that will be part of the product scope, and ensure ongoing alignment throughout the development process.
  • Build and maintain the product backlog of user stories and defects. Work with the development team to prioritize user stories and ensure product status is communicated in a timely and effective manner. Validate that the completed stories meet acceptance criteria and that appropriate testing has been completed prior to release to production.
  • Support the Content and Development team on the definition of the content model and execution of the content migration process.
  • Serve as Product Owner to drive the agile development of digital products, features and process enhancements. Lead/Participate in daily scrums, sprint planning meetings, and sprint reviews and retrospectives. Demonstrate developed functionalities during sprint reviews.
  • Recommend feature and scope changes as needed during the development cycle to ensure the product strategy remains in alignment with the business strategy.
  • Participate in client-facing milestone review and UAT and obtain/process client feedback for incorporation into future milestones.
  • Coordinate with the QA team to ensure that functional testing is conducted on a regular sprint cadence, ensuring alignment of test plans and project status.
  • Coordinate with the Content team on product documentation, user guides, and user training, ensuring a successful handoff of the final product.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years working with cross-functional teams of Project Management, UX, Design, and Development to define, document, and prioritize product features and user stories for digital products is a must.
  • Experience in a wide range of technical projects and managing concurrent projects.
  • Requires a proven ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Requires strong communication (verbal and written) skills with other team members and clients.
  • Requires strong problem-solving abilities, proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello), and excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess an interest in learning new technologies, techniques, and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding and experience with iterative application development including agile development methodologies such as SCRUM & KANBAN is a plus.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner is a plus.
  • Understanding WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 guidelines is a plus.
  • Previous work experience in digital agencies, tech startups, or roles involving digital product development is highly valued. Consulting or web development background a plus.
  • Proficiency in contemporary digital product development tools and methodologies, including cloud-based technologies, API-driven integrations, and microservices. Familiarity with current CMS, CRM, and e-commerce platforms, alongside data analytics tools. Demonstrated experience in user-centric design principles and data-informed decision-making.
  • Previous experience with various levels of quality assurance testing and developing QA test plans is a plus.
