What You Will Do
The Programmatic Supply Chain Group within the Weapons Production Directorate at Los Alamos National Laboratory (TRIAD) is looking for an exceptional Production Control Specialist to join the (SCL-3) Programmatic Supply Chain Group. The selected candidates will effectively and compliantly manage measurement and testing equipment (M&TE), programmatic, weapon, and facility related material for the Associate Lab Director for Weapons Production (ALDWP). The primary focus of this position will be ensuring materials are be moved compliantly and safely between multiple controlled storage areas on and off Laboratory property. This is a vital part of ensuring construction, programmatic, and facility milestones and deliverables are met. The selected candidate will utilize multiple inventory management systems to maintain and verify inventory levels as well as ensure item traceability. Ensure items are stored on shelves and organized in a manner that will ensure expeditious item retrieval. Responsible for locating, pulling, and staging material for production, construction, and maintenance related activities. Ensure material pulled is the correct Management Level (ML) / Procurement Quality Level (PQL) for end-use application and complies with applicable codes and standards. Comply with institution-controlled storage procedures, as well as handling and transportation of chemicals requirements. Ensure material is controlled, defined storage levels are met, shelf-life enforcement, accuracy of inventory records, and maintenance or special handling of quality-affecting items.
What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Material Management

Demonstrated ability to manage material in accordance with applicable quality assurance and industry standards.

Business Systems

Above average computer skills and demonstrated experience with Inventory Control, Material Tracking systems, and proficient in various software suites, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access

Communication

Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting and communicating both written and orally with customers in a customer service-related setting. Ability to proactively work to assist others in achieving the organizations objectives. Ability to communicate findings and make recommendations.

Organizational Skills

Possess high attention to detail including strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, observation skills and problem solving skills. Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic environment.

Education and Years of Relevant Experience

Position requires 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active DOE Q clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Classified Matter Protection Custodian
  • Chemical Management
  • Experience managing M&TE via Indysoft
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Experience managing material in a nuclear environment and ensuring item traceability; Awareness and willingness to learn supply chain management practices and the appropriate handling of chemicals and storage requirements.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

  • Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, 712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
