Project Estimator




  • Full time position - Great opportunity

  • Leading Light Gauge Steel Manufacturer

  • East Windsor, CT



Key responsibilities will include, although not limited to:




  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.

  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

  • Visiting sites to gather essential information

  • Ability to use construction bidding software and ability to take off projects using Bluebeam

  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

  • Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.

  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Read construction drawings, understand building requirements & review specifications

  • Liaise closely with internal and external customers in relation to drawings and job details

  • Work to strict time frames to ensure proficient completion of drawings



To succeed in this role you will possess:




  • Understanding metric and imperial measurements (desirable)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Exceptional communication, professional attitude and customer service skills are a MUST.

  • Good organisational & analytical skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and methodical approach

  • Prior knowledge of the steel building industry a plus

  • Previous experience in Estimating.
