We are looking for a skilled Aerospace Propulsion Engineer in a specific arena that will be disclosed during the interview.

This young startup, founded 3 years ago, is already doing big things and well funded. They are utilizing water based propulsion to truly transform the industry and provide solutions which will ultimately facilitate significantly lower cost deployment of satellites.

Key Responsibilities




  • Assist in the development of propulsion components and systems (mechanical design, materials & manufacturing methods, etc) from initial concept to assembly, integration, and test

  • Design and test fluid system components and assemblies

  • Assist in the definition and execution of test plans for acceptance, qualification, and endurance testing of propulsion systems and components

  • Support qualification, integration, and testing efforts of propulsion systems and components

  • Assist in definition and documentation of assembly and manufacturing processes

  • Work with other engineers to drive components and subsystems to flight maturity

     


Desired Skills And Experience


  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent and 2+ years experience (6+ for senior/principal level)

    • A graduate degree (MS or PhD) is preferred 



  • Hands-on: desire to be involved with design, test, and assembly

  • 6+ years of experience with the design of propulsion systems (arcjet, resistojet, cold gas, bipropellant or monopropellant preferred)

  • Experience with the full engineering life cycle of flight propulsion systems

  • Understanding of fluid mechanics and compressible flow

  • Experience with lab equipment and qualification campaigns

  • A strong background in CAD (Solidworks preferred)

  • Some experience in numerical methods is nice to have
