Your role at Vertice:

As a Purchasing Director youll be working directly with our customers to optimise how they buy and renew SaaS. Youll be a key member of our post-sales team, acting as the face of our purchasing service.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of purchasing managers as well as project management and planning for our customers' procurement needs. You will work with a variety of stakeholders to build trust in our service and demonstrate its value to our customers. You will work closely with our customers and our other customer teams to effectively communicate deal status, overcome blockers, and highlight dependencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Purchasing Managers in the procurement of SaaS products and services for our customers. This includes developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts.
  • Work closely with the Customer Success team to understand customer needs and requirements, and to ensure that the Purchasing team delivers the best possible outcomes for our customers. This includes advising customers on how to improve efficiency with their SaaS stack, and how to improve their procurement process.
  • Negotiate key SaaS contracts on behalf of customers, ensuring that they get the best possible value for money. This includes leveraging pricing data to demonstrate the value of the service, and working with the Customer Success team to deliver compelling business reviews.
  • Manage your team workload and partner with the Insights Team, ensuring each member is best positioned to get an excellent result. This includes monitoring market trends and evolving pricing models.
  • Working with Customer Operations to develop training programs for purchasing staff, and creating tools and resources to support the procurement process.

Requirements

  • Professional background in Project Management, Procurement, Vendor Management, or a related discipline in Consulting.
  • Built and led a team that executes on the goals and expectations of customers.
  • Strong understanding of the SaaS business model and knowledge of the ecosystem.
  • Passionate about the value of great customer service you seek and have consistently achieved extraordinary results as part of a high energy and dynamic team for enterprise and mid-sized customers.
  • You are a clear, confident and compelling communicator in writing, in conversation and in front of customers.
  • Superb listening skills and the ability to dig deeper to uncover the customers true objectives.
  • You are an expert project manager who can manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure all key objectives and timelines are met.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct compelling presentations to senior customer stakeholders.
