About You And This Role As a Purchasing Leader at Dow Mumbai, India, your role is a vital role supporting the delivery of in-country services from Purchasing. You will play a key role in developing and managing a high-performing team with oversight for Purchasing operations. You will report to the Senior Regional Sourcing Leader. and will be based out of Dows office in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will lead a team of professionals while having knowledge of the business operations for your discipline or functional area. You will need to fully understand these business operations and how teams work together to achieve operational objectives. You should be able to guide and persuade others, using influential leadership to elevate the performance of the workgroup. It is your responsibility to identify operational challenges and understand the broader impact across teams within your discipline or functional area. You will lead a team of professional individual contributors within your discipline, guided by policies and plans that enable your team to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives. Responsibilities Provide on-going support and point of escalation for Purchasing operations. Monitor efficiency, quality measures, and goals, ensuring that teams and individuals understand the expectations, taking appropriate action when needed. Your role is to Identify skill opportunities within the team and outline programs/training to enhance its overall capabilities. Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support career development initiatives to foster a growth culture and environment. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as business units, finance, and legal teams to understand requirements, provide advice, and ensure effective employee/customer experience is prioritized. Build strong partnerships and maintain open lines of communication with key stakeholders. Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and ethical standards in daily activities. Mitigate potential risks by implementing appropriate controls and conducting due diligence. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience. People Leadership experience is preferred. Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement certification. Strong business and financial acumen. Understanding of the India geography Preferred Skills Requires strong influential management and understanding of business priorities. Ability to persuade others (internal and external stakeholders) through effective communication. An understanding of the region and its capabilities, ability to connect globally and excellent data analytics & process knowledge. Familiarity of leading improvement projects and having accountability for on-going activities or initiatives. Exhibition of strong work ethic and responsiveness to facilitate excellent Customer Experience. Additional Notes Relocation/visa sponsorship is not aligned with this role.
