Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
Direct-Hire & Full-Time

This individual will lead the company's quality functions, focusing on formulating, executing, and sustaining a strategic quality plan. This role is responsible for establishing and overseeing standards, policies, procedures, specifications, people practices, and training initiatives governing quality activities across all phases of company processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of prior experience in manufacturing QA management.
  • Required R&D experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software applications.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a dairy manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Dairy processing or lactoferrin experience is preferred.

Essential Duties:
  • Lead culture change by setting an example with a positive attitude and innovative thinking aligned with business strategy.
  • Implement and oversee the company's Quality Assurance Program at the facility, ensuring data accuracy in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Establish quality assurance specifications for finished products, in-process testing, and ingredients, and ensure production personnel adhere to these specifications.
  • Define quality specifications for incoming raw materials in collaboration with Purchasing and monitor raw materials to ensure specification compliance.
  • Recruit, direct, coach, lead, and supervise all QA personnel, continuously elevating performance standards and providing education and development programs for employees, including SOPs, quality specifications, safety, and job expectations.
  • Manage the laboratory budget, identifying cost reduction opportunities and margin improvement.
  • Research and provide timely analytical results for customer complaints, interact with customers as needed for complaint investigation and resolution, and professionally represent the company on quality matters with vendors and customers.
  • Assist operations in establishing procedures and supervising product and process development and test runs, reporting results.
  • Manage inventory of off-spec materials, including scheduling and reworking products as required.
  • Ensure FDA compliance, HACCP, and GMP programs are maintained.
  • Conduct internal, vendor, and contract manufacturing audits as necessary.
  • Enhance and maintain all existing quality assurance lab data system reports, perform statistical analysis on production, lab, and formula data.
  • Maintain the Kosher and Halal certification program and oversee ingredient verification.
  • Ensure compliance with company, state, federal, and international safety and regulatory policies and practices as applicable.
