Summary



Ricoh’s Commercial Print Research & Development organization is looking for a Quality Assurance Project Manager with at least 5 years of experience working with complex systems including hardware and control unit components. 




  • The QA Project Manager will monitor project health and guide the teams toward best practices to achieve high quality releases. 

  • This is a contract to hire assignment 

  • 40 hours/week


Roles & Responsibilities


  • Provides project management business guidance to team members throughout the project life cycle. Has the ability to manage and motivate team members. Team members might include customer, supplier and internal company staff. 

  • Defines and decides objectives related to the project or segment of a large project from a cost, schedule, technical and quality perspective. Identifies potential business and technical risk for the project. Advises others and works with team members to articulate, compare, and implement solutions and alternative approaches. 

  • Analyzes problems and creates solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components. Accountable for meeting customer's requirements and obtain the results of the project segment or deliverable assigned. 

  • Responsible for project planning. Performs activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible for their financial baseline of the project. As appropriate, challenges the validity of given procedures and processes with a view toward enhancement or improvement. 

  • Responsible for performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality, and appropriate business measurements for their project/segment of the project and for revenue and profit objectives of the project. 

  • Failure to accomplish would normally have serious results and substantial additional resources to correct. Individuals will participate actively in knowledge sharing activities like communities of practice, forums, conferences and/or other knowledge exchanges. 

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.



Preferred Skill: 




  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 

  • Proven influential negotiation skills 

  • Data mining experience within TestRail, Sharepoint, Redmine or other source data tools



Required Skills: 




  • 5+ years electro-mechanical system design validation experience. Candidate must have a strong background in Device Verification Testing, Functional Testing, and System Testing of complex electromechanical systems, and quality metrics used in this environment. 

  • 3+ years Quality Assurance experience in an R&D environment 

  • 2+ years project management experience 

  • Highly developed system thinking 

  • Deep understanding of metrics used to measure quality of electromechanical systems  

  • Ability to understand what issues are important, and investigate to root cause while developing effective action plans for resolution 

  • Refined focus on quality from a customer perspective – understand the difference between simply meeting specification and meeting customer expectation. 

  • Strong skills with all MS Office tools (especially Excel, Project, and PowerPoint) including experience with Excel macros and pivot tables. 

  • Meticulous reporting and presentation skills for executive briefings of project health
