Job Title:                        QA Assistant

Department:     Quality Assurance/Quality Control/Food Safety                                                     

Directly Reports To: QA Supervisor              

Summary: This position requires a reliable QA Assistant to assist in ensuring product or service meets the established standards required for each department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee QA for the entire production process/area


• Look out for deviations within production


• Continually observe the units of goods produced for visible defects


• Perform various tests on the samples retrieved


• Document observations to assist Managers in retraining of employees


• Place lots on HOLD based on sample results


• Assist in implementation of quality control programs


• SOP Captures on all processing activity


• SSOP Captures on all sanitation equipment and processes


• Work closely with QA and Production team to identify challenges and create solutions

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (include the following, but not limited to)

• Strong knowledge of industry-wide accepted quality norms is essential


• HACCP Trained and Certified


• PCQI-Human and Pet Food

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED


• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree


• Prior experience working as a quality assurance assistant is preferred
