Apollo Aerospace Components Quality Manager

Position Overview: As the Apollo Aerospace Quality Chain Manager, you will play a critical role in the seamless operation and optimization of our quality organization, ensuring that all operations meet the demanding standards of AS9120 and ISO9000. Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including inspection processes, non-conformance resolution, corrective and preventive actions, and document control. Lead a team of quality professionals and work closely with various departments, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure that our distribution processes continue to deliver our zero-defect performance to our customers. This position is on-site in our Carol Stream, IL facility.

Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management Systems:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality management systems in compliance with relevant aerospace standards, such as AS9100 or ISO 9000
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including inspection processes, non-conformance resolution, corrective and preventative actions and document control
  • Develop and deliver quality-related training programs to employees across different departments, ensuring awareness and understanding of quality policies and procedures

2. Compliance and Certifications:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and certifications necessary for aerospace distribution, liaising with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Lead internal and external audits to evaluate process adherence and identify opportunities for improvement

3. Supplier Quality Management:

  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring their adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to monitor and enhance supplier quality.

4. Quality Metrics and Risk Management:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting quality metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Identify potential quality risks and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent defects and non-conformances

5. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
  • Experience in quality management within the aerospace industry, including familiarity with AS9120 or similar aerospace quality standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing successful quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives Demonstrated ability to lead a team and drive results in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in conducting internal and external quality audits
