RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Manager will work for OCTAL Extrusion Corp., an Alpek Polyester Business in Cincinnati, OH. Duties include:

· Develop, implement and manage the company quality management system.

· Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity meeting production schedules and delivery commitments.

· Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.

· Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.

· Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.

· Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.

· Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

· Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.

· Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company.

· Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.

· Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.

· Create and direct environmental test functions and applications.

· Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.

· Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.

· Represents the company in the community and promotes the company’s good will and interests in community development.

· Comply with all Safety and Health rules. Wears personal protective equipment at all times as required.

· Serve as lead internal auditor of ISO/SQF certifications.

· All other duties assigned by management.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant discipline

· 2 years’ experience in all of the following:

· Supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment

· Reading, writing, and interpreting production procedures and reports

· Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and recommending best cost effective measures

· Quality control and troubleshooting

· Environmental analysis

· Root cause analysis

· SAP in a manufacturing environment

· Data management and control

· Quality systems compliance
