Responsibilities:

Supervision of Quality Assurance Specialist, and the team of QC Technicians. Responsibilities include training; planning, assigning, and directing work, troubleshooting, and conflict resolution. This role includes performance management duties including hiring, development/coaching opportunities, disciplinary actions, and annual performance & merit reviews.

Responsible for the daily operation and performance of the Quality Lab activities related to the effective and efficient assessment and disposition of all incoming raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.

Responsible to verify the accuracy of production batch information at required frequencies to ensure all quality and food safety monitoring activities meet expectations

Oversees implementation of the Food Safety Plan and supporting Prerequisite Programs

Liaises with R&D technical resources to identify and solve problems related to the quality of samples, process improvement, production deviations, etc.

Responsible for finished product release program which ensures all products meet customer specifications

Implement an Internal Audit Program to analyze processes and lead the continuous improvement program of the current SQF certification

Communicate effectively with the Director of Quality to ensure companywide objectives are achieved and the appropriate escalation of risks and opportunities for improvement.

Skills Needed:

Analytical - synthesizes complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs workflows and procedures.

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a scientific field; and three to five years related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Be proficient in QC analytical methods and batch review and release to act as support or coverage for the QC Laboratory
