    POSITION PURPOSE



    The RBT is a paraprofessional who is responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. The supervising BCBA determines and assigns tasks for the RBT to perform as a function of his/her training, experience, and competency levels.



    RBT REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or national equivalent

  • Complete 40 hours of training by supervising BCBA- must be completed within 90 day period

  • Complete a criminal background check

  • Pass the RBT competency assessment conducted by supervising BCBA

  • Pass the RBT exam through BACB


  • RBT ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Pass the RBT competency assessment conducted by supervising BCBA

  • Complete annual renewal through BACB

  • Receive ongoing supervision and comply with BACB's ethics requirements


  • RESPONSIBILITIES AND AGREEMENTS



  • The RBT agrees to work closely with his/her supervisor to develop a high level of behavior-analytic expertise. This should include in-depth discussions and understanding of issues affecting practice, acceptance of performance feedback and willingness to adjust as necessary.

  • Supervisor agrees to provide specific feedback to RBT on performance in RBT-client interaction; this may be conducted via web-camera, videotape, videoconferencing, or similar means in lieu of the supervisor being physically present. Weekly feedback from supervisor should be conducted in person at least twice per month.


  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES



  • The RBT works directly under the supervision of the BCBA.

  • Participates in the implementation of the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP), created by the BCBA in collaboration with parents and therapists, to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.

  • Participates in implementation daily data collection.

  • Participates in entering data collected and updating graphs, along with reporting data to supervising BCBA.

  • Assists in observational assessments with the BCBA, such as the ABC (Antecedent, behavior, consequence) log.

  • Prepares for all sessions as directed by the skill acquisition program.

  • Prepares and implements all materials needed for the skill acquisition.

  • Implements appropriate teaching procedures determined by supervising BCBA.

  • Implements interventions based on behavior modification determined by supervising BCBA.

  • Stores all notes, data collection, graphs, etc. in designated area in compliance with HIPAA.

  • Maintains visual supervision of the child at all times. NEVER leave a child unattended.

  • Speaks in a well-modulated, pleasant, and caring voice to children, parents and staff.

  • Represents the program to parents, visitors, and the public in a positive way.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environment by ensuring that children are kept clean and toys and other materials are disinfected each day.

  • Displays concern for the rights of children and families served by the clinic.

  • Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies.

  • Ensures confidentiality of children and employee information. Responds to internal and external requests for information according to clinic policy.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear.  The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to maintain regular and punctual attendance. The employee is required to complete tasks in a timely manner.
