The primary responsibility of the R&D Statistician will be to conduct statistical analyses. The Statistician will also aid in design and implementation of data collection and analysis processes. The Statistician is to support development activities of multiple technical research and development projects of new products. This person will be responsible to drive data-based decision making across all development areas, while working in an environment that thrives on innovation, communication, and collaboration. Applicants should be prepared to manage tasks from multiple projects simultaneously. Footprint expects a professional who can apply statistical methods and models to real-world problems. They will gather, analyze, and interpret data to aid in many businesses decision-making processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Consults with technical experts to develop strategies to collect & utilize data for product development activities.
  
• Be a driving influencer on the use and application of data-based decision making.
• Be an advocate by educating and advocating for data driven decision making.
• Teaches statistical methodology to technical experts (materials scientists, design engineers, equipment & process engineers).
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and utilize data enabled by technology.
• Write statistical analysis plans and design and develop tables, listings, and figures.
• Run data quality, cleansing, standardization, and verification processes.
• Use automated routines to prepare data for creation of analytics products in the production environment.
• Work closely with clients to communicate project details, stages, and troubleshoot roadblocks.
• Contribute to the preparation of study proposals and statistical budgets.
• Translate clients objectives and demands into quantitative workplans.
• Execute statistical and programming aspects of projects, including analysis plan writing, programming, and interpretation of the results in statistical methodology.
• Methodological leadership in client meetings related to statistical methods and presentation of data analytics outputs and insights.
• Acts as statistical reviewer and provide first level of management communications and consultation with clients in a statistical sciences role.
• Develops and provides consistent approaches to developing analysis budgets across different study designs.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Masters Degree or PhD in Statistics.
• 3+ years of Data analytics in an R&D and/or Manufacturing Industry.
• Expertise in designing and analyzing experiments in an R&D environment (GRCs, screening, optimization, robustness).
• Experience using machine learning for root cause detection in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in dashboard creation (JMP, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Scripting expertise in one or more language, preferably JMP scripting language and Python.
• Excellent attention to detail, solid time management and analytics skills.
• Demonstrated history of defining data-based processes for technology development, including Design of Experiments, Measurement Capability Analysis, Statistical Process Control, and other Data Analytics applications.
• Innovation and leadership in developing new ideas related to process improvements.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, problem solving, judgment and decision-making; driven, self-motivated and adaptable.
• Effective and clear communication skills, when working across multiple countries and geographies within and outside the company.
• Experience using Statistical software to define data collection & conduct statistical analyses (JMP, Minitab, etc.)
• Highly competent with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project, or other project planning tools
• Ability to work on multiple projects and effectively manage competing priorities and multitask.
• Ability to deal effectively with time pressures, stress, and changing demands of job on a regular basis.
• Ability to handle highly confidential business information.
