Saturday/Sunday 7a-9:30p, Monday 7p-7a (39 hours/week) Monday-Friday 1:30p-9:30p Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 7p-6a, Friday 9:30p-6a (39 hours/week) Week 1: Monday-Thursday 8:30p-7a, Week 2: Friday-Sunday 5:30p-6a Week 1: Monday-Thursday 8:30p-7a, Week 2: Friday-Sunday 5:30p-6a We also offer a sign on bonus or loan forgiveness with a 2 year contract post orientation (with terms): 2+ years experience- $7,500 sign on bonus OR- up to $3,500 loan forgiveness with a 2 year contract post orientation Job Summary This position is responsible for working directly with patients and assisting radiologists and/or staff physicians while administering x-rays in the course of radiological examinations in concordance with physician orders. The radiologic technologist shall be capable of operating radiologic equipment, perform a variety of radiological procedures, operate the picture archiving system, use radiographic supplies including contrast while providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards. This position is responsible for performing a variety of basic clerical and housekeeping functions such as examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval (HIS, RIS, PACS), and infection control. The level I technologist shall be competent in the following areas: general radiography, routine fluoroscopy including barium studies, portable and emergent trauma radiography, radiographic technique formulation, radiographic quality control and basic surgical radiographic procedures. Level I technologists exercise professional judgment while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service, age specific criteria, safety and medical ethics. Other duties as assigned. Position assures compliance and upholding of the Medical Center's policy of non-discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, physical or mental handicap, pregnancy or veteran status. Position may interact with all ages of patients, guests, staff and others. Education Associates Required Additional Education Requirements Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. AAS or BS in Radiologic Sciences preferred. Radiological Technologist Required, And BLS Healthcare Provider Required Registered with the ARRT The candidate must successfully pass the national registry test for radiologic technology within 12 months from the start of being registry eligible. Experience Two years of Clinical experience in an ARRT accredited radiologic technology program. Additional on the job experience is preferred. Job Requirements: Maintains Current Licensure/Certifications Attends Mandatory Meetings Attends at least 50% of unit meetings Reads 100% of meeting minutes not attended within 30 days Reads emails in a timely manner Completes Health Stream assignments on time Completes unit specific competencies in a timely manner Technical/Job Skills Standards: Competently operates and understands basic operational features of radiographic equipment. Strives to assure all pertinent anatomy included on all radiographs and that proper positioning is obtained. Demonstrates knowledge of technical factor selection and manipulation for optimal radiograph exposure with minimal patient dose. Demonstrates knowledge of, and routinely performs, proper critique of radiographs to include, but not limited to; proper anatomical positioning, all pertinent anatomy included, proper technique, proper patient demographics, proper use of personalized position markers with evidence of collimation on views where applicable. Demonstrates knowledge of proper image processing ensuring successful transmission to PACS system. Sufficient knowledge of how to manage the PACS system to ensure correct patient/exam information is in the system. Demonstrates knowledge of use, and routinely utilizes, positioning aids, to obtain correct positioning of patient and to eliminate need for repeats due to motion, etc. Strives to maintain reject rate below department standard without sacrificing film quality on exams turned in for dictation. Asks for guidance from senior technologist if additional views would be beneficial. Assures all pertinent forms and documents are completed and sent to Medical Records (pregnancy forms, contrast criteria sheets, consent forms, etc). Demonstrates knowledge required for assisting and working with radiologists. Assures all supplies and exam room ready before calling for a radiologist. Ensures all images are in PACS correctly. Able to obtain vital signs and record as needed for procedures.
