Associate/Senior Associate needed at a prominent New York City real estate law firm located in midtown Manhattan. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise with cooperative and condominium work in the NYC area along with various real estate matters.

Responsibilities

  • Cooperative and condominium law;
  • Litigating actions to foreclose mortgages, condominium liens for unpaid common charges, and mechanics' liens, and all types of summary proceedings in Landlord-Tenant court;
  • Litigating cases in the Civil and Supreme Courts on behalf of Cooperative and Condominium Boards, enforcing Board rights and remedies.
  • Counseling cooperative and condominium boards on corporate governance issues, elections, special meetings and annual meetings, vendor contract review, apartment renovations and combinations, and amendments to By-Laws and Declarations.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the NY state bar and eligibility to practice law in New York.
  • 3+ years of experience practicing cooperative and condominium law, real estate law.
  • Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law in NY.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills for administrative hearings and legal proceedings.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $180,000 - $350,000+ base compensation
