  • Recruiters report to the Recruitment Coordinator and Team Leader.

  • Become versed in the eligibility requirements at the national and state level for the Migrant Education Program.

  • Complete necessary paperwork for possible eligible families, this includes, Certificates of Eligibility, Need’s Assessments, verification forms, Media Release forms, etc. in a grammatically correct, legible manner.

  • Maintain/establish communication with agencies, schools, employers, farmers, industries, and any other pertinent organization which may assist in the identification of migratory children; such as  LEA’s, local community agencies, industries, faith-based institutions, or organizations, etc.

  • Participate in all national, state, and local recruitment planning, training, outreach efforts, sweeps, in-service training, and meetings as required and/or needed.

  • Provide information on the MEP program services to pertinent possible eligible families and their children.

  • Provide all stakeholders information on MEP services for possible eligible families.

  • Maintain confidentiality in regards to all recruited children and their families.

  • Attend local Parent Advisory Committee meetings (PAC), as indicated by Team Leader.

  • Complete all Team Leader and state-required documentation on time; this includes COE’s, monthly reports, schedules, travel vouchers, uploads, etc.

  • Participate in interstate, intrastate, and/or local recruitment efforts upon request.

  • Perform other duties and/or a responsibility to support the Migrant Education Program’s mission as recommended by the Team Leader.



 



 



TIME AND SITE RESPONSIBILITIES:



Attendance at work is a requirement of the position; and all absences must be approved by immediate supervisor. Attendance at an occasional evening or overnight workshop is required. Some evening and weekend sessions for home visits and parent involvement activities may also be required. Requests for extended absences from work during June, July, and August will not be approved. Schedule daily work and vacation time appropriately.



 



Other Requirements:



The employee must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and have own transportation. Must be able to lift and carry medium loads; must be able to navigate uneven ground, stairs, porches, and steps; must have the stamina to travel and provide services with in the same workday. PA State Police Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), and background history check (Act 168) are a pre-employment condition.
