Job Description

The successful candidate will possessabachelors degree in engineering, supply chain, business administration or construction related fields with experience and proven track record in contracting for engineering, licensing, EPC and EPCM services. The candidate must possess leadership and influencing skills, technological skills, along with strong business acumen, and excellent negotiation and time management skills.

The Strategic Technologies team is primarily responsible for the contracting of key technologies like electrolyzers, ammonia synthesis & dissociation, jetties, and storage tanks among others. As such, the
Contracts Manager
is responsible to bring to fruition the strategies of the team by contracting with viable technology providers, EPC, EPCMs and ensuring their compliance to the contracts to enhance Air Products' competitiveness and enable world-class project execution.

They will be expected to understand, formulate, and negotiate the pre-award RFP and contract components such as scope of work for each technology, technical specifications, commercial practices, operating practices, and business processes with a focus on driving cost reduction initiatives. He/she will understand and promote relationship management including the development and tracking of Key Performance Indictors (KPIs) and continuous improvement practices to retain the value gained through the pre-award process. Strong sourcing, organizational, written, and negotiating skills are required.

The candidate must also possess both contract formation and contract management skills. They will need to have the knowledge, experience, and ability to influence program or project teams, and business stakeholders to meet established contracting goals and objectives. Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information, across cultures and organizations is a key success factor.

The individual will be expected to support commercial negotiations including terms & conditions, pricing, and schedule. Prior experience in awarding and managing engineering, licensing, EPC and EPCM is a must. Individual is expected to bring expertise in managing risks as a primary commercial advisor.

Travel will be required for this position both short & long business trips of 1 or 2 weeks periodically throughout the year. Overall travel is expected to be ~15%.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop strategies in alignment with program or project requirements and objectives.
Identify and qualify technology providers, EPC, and EPCM contractors meeting Air Products technological requirements.
Develop base intelligence strategies to ensure Air Products benefits from latest supply offerings.
Bring innovative solutions to maximize value proposition for technologies and bid opportunities.
Effectively utilize e-Sourcing tools to launch inquiries and receive contractor quotations/proposals.
Negotiate terms and conditions and commercial parameters.
Develop efficient bid tabulations and sourcing reviews with cross functional teams.
Develop and present award recommendations based on total cost of ownership.
Assist with the commitment approval process and the execution of contractual agreements.
Assist in the development and negotiation of framework agreements to support competitive offering.
Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers to maximize leverage and minimize risk.
Identify, develop, and manage contractors; understand safety, commercial and capacity risks.
Manage relationships with suppliers and maintain interface at senior level within their organizations.
Effectively participate in Continuous Improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree level qualified
Bachelor of Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Construction is advantageous.
6+years of contracts experience in an Industrial Gas, EPC, Oil & Gas or Technology company.
Excellent oral and written English proficiency is a must. Second language is advantageous
