Summary/Objective:

The Regional Manager oversees the efficient and effective day to day operations of the mobile units, equipment, and assigned staff. They are responsible for enforcing policy and procedure, including applicable changes, within their operational area. They are responsible for communicating issues encountered within their operational area and helping to resolve such issues. They exhibit leadership and engage interactively with their assigned staff, serving as a coach, mentor, resource and voice.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all essential functions of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist job description
  • Works as NMT a minimum of one day per week (mandatory), with two or three days per week working or supervising
  • Submit weekly schedule to the Director of Clinical Operation
  • Provide assistance, as requested, with Peer review/Imaging quality program
  • Monthly staff calls with clinical and driver teams, include Administrative Assistant to record minutes
  • Perform radiopharmaceutical (generator) preparation and quality control according to department procedure and Bracco specifications
  • Calibrate Nuclear Medicine equipment according to manufacturer specifications
  • Administer radiopharmaceutical in compliance with established regulations and accreditation agency protocols
  • Coordinate the flow and schedule of patients to ensure optimal patient satisfaction while ensuring all patient safety measures are maintained; respond to related inquiries
  • Maintain and achieve daily productivity, safety and quality standards
  • Ensure quality assurance tests are performed daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly
  • Coordinates and answers questions regarding networking and informatics
  • Ensures all electronic data is submitted to appropriate destination in a timely manner
  • Provide technical assistance to physicians and technologists
  • Provide technical direction with complex cases and follow through to resolution

Essential Functions (continued):

  • Monitor mobile unit, equipment and system operations; schedule routine/preventive maintenance on equipment to meet safety and regulatory standards
  • Monitors dosimeter reporting and instructs staff in radiation protection
  • Assists Director with maintenance of all required section records and provision of statistical data required for management activities
  • Collaborates with department leadership to develop and implement methods for achieving goals and objectives
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing operational changes
  • Identifies, coordinates, and/or leads training programs for staff regarding equipment usage, new protocols, patient safety, and professional development
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with policies and procedures by assigned staff; provide feedback and recommendations on such to upper management
  • Participate in the interview, selection, and training of assigned staff
  • Administer discipline and performance evaluation for assigned staff
  • Coordinate schedule and work activities of assigned staff, including inventory management and hub activities
  • Review time records of assigned staff
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Supervisor Responsibility:

This position supervises the day to day activities of assigned staff in their operational area including Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and/or Drivers. They actively participate in the selection, hiring, evaluation, discipline, training, scheduling, and development of staff.

Requirements

  • Must be certified by or eligible for the nuclear medicine technology certification board (NMTCB), ARRT (N) Certification
  • Must be a graduate of an approved nuclear medicine program
  • BRACCO certification preferred
  • RSO experience preferred
  • 5-7 years work experience is preferred
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Practice Management Systems
  • Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team oriented environment
  • Previous supervisor experince preferred
