Registered Nurse ICU - MHUMC, Savannah, GA

Shift: Full-time: Days & Nights/Rotate weekends
SHIFT: Days, Nights - 7a-7p, 7p-7a, night is urgent need and screened within 24 hours
Memorial Health University Medical Center is a 612-bed HCA Healthcare facility in Savannah, Georgia. The hospital is known for having the only Level I trauma center and only children's hospital in the region.

Job Summary/Duties
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in collaboration with other members of the health care team to protect, promote and optimize health and ability, prevent illness and injury, alleviate suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocate in the care of individuals and families. The Registered Nurse incorporates creative factors from Watson’s theory into his/her practice. The RN practices in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, Georgia Nurse Practice Act, Professional Standards, Code of Ethics for Nursing, and the institution’s nursing philosophy, Professional Practice Model. The Registered Nurse complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.
Education:
- A graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required - Level entry training may be a Diploma Program in Nursing, an Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- An active State of Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) License is required
- A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
Experience
- 1+ years Critical Care experience required; 2 years ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma ICU facility preferre
Additional Notes:
24 ICU Beds
New ICU Floor opening
Nurse Patient ratio: may be 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 based on their acuity level, standard norm is 2:1
Candidates who worked in level I progressive care unit (neuro ICU) trauma units and/or progressive care units – or large level II or III with stable histories will be considered
Skillset information
- ANYONE with an ICU Background
- Hemodynamic Monitoring
- Proficient in titratable drips for sedation, paralytics, vasopressors
- Ventilator Management
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS
- Management of critically ill patients
- Professional Bedside Manner
- Proficient in EMR
Preferred Skills:
- Any medical ICU experience
- Experience with patients in MODS, SIRS, Shock, MCVs, GSWs
- Experience with resuscitation
- CCRN Certification desirable
