Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Orthopedics -  Plano, TX

Key Skill Requirements: RN required, BSN required, Med Surg required, Acute Care required, Ortho/Oncology preferred



SHIFT: 

• Full time Days & Nights (rotating weekends)


• 3 12 hr. shifts per week- 7A-7P or 7P-7A


• Unit does self scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule

 Job Responsibilities

• Med Surg Ortho RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for medical/surgical inpatients with a specialty focus on orthopedics.


• Plan, implement, revise and delegate nursing care


• Perform necessary technical skills as delineated through education, expertise, and unit requirements


• Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice

Education

• BSN required - NO EXCEPTIONS


• Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted


• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association required


• Must have at least one (1) year RECENT Med Surg RN experience in an acute care hospital


• REHAB, LTAC OR HOME HEALTH WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.


• Must have a strong background in Med Surg - will train for oncology or orthopedics

Additional Information

• Nurse to patient ratio- 1:5/6


• #Beds per unit- 35


• Reports to the unit manager


• New tower opening due to an expansion

Compensation: Salary is based on years of experience Night differential- $3.75, Weekend differential- $4.30. 

Sign on bonus up to $5,000 and Relocation assistance available up to $3,000
