Registered Nurse (RN) 



Department/Unit: Acute Pediatrics



Shift: Day/Night Rotating



Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks





General job duties:

• Taking care of general Medical Surgical pediatric patients with some overflow adult medical surgical.

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept: 

• EPIC electronic records, Centricity electronic record, accudose. Phillips inteliview cardiac monitors.

Required skills and minimum years of experience:

• Comfortable taking care of children and families.


• Minimum of 2-3 yrs of experience with Medical Surgical Peds patients.


• PICU experience

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:

• ND state RN or Compact License


• AHA Certifications: CPR/BLS and PALS

Shift or schedule requirements: 

• Days and nights 12 hours shifts rotating.


• Mostly three twelve hours shifts.


• Every third weekend.


• No they do not work alone, two nurses are required to be staffed at all times.


• Call may be required at one shift a pay-period.

Floating to over units/departments:

• Our sister units are NICU and OB 

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept:

• 14 general peds beds, One PICU and six same day chairs.

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit:

• 4 to 1 most shifts.

Dress Code:

• Navy Blue pants with child friendly tops.
