Cloud Ops Engineer

Position Description

We are looking for a skilled CloudOps Engineer. Preference will be given to candidates who can work in a hybrid nature from the client office in Miramar, Florida, or Dallas, Texas. The opportunity will open to remote candidates as well.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Deploy, Manage, Maintain, and Upgrade DataOS:
  • Take a hands-on approach to deploy, manage, and maintain instances of DataOS, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance.
  • Lead the upgrade process of DataOS, implementing the latest features and improvements to meet evolving business requirements.

Manage DataOS Infrastructure on Cloud Platforms:
  • Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to efficiently manage the infrastructure supporting DataOS.
  • Implement best practices in cloud infrastructure management to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor Customer Instances of DataOS:
  • Proactively monitor customer instances of DataOS, addressing any infrastructure related concerns promptly to maintain high availability.
  • Implement robust monitoring solutions to ensure real-time visibility into the health and performance of DataOS deployments.

Manage Code Repositories:
  • Oversee and manage code repositories, utilizing platforms such as GitHub or Bitbucket and implement version control best practices to track changes, facilitate collaboration, and ensure the integrity of the codebase.
  • Automate DataOS Deployment Process:
  • Implement automation scripts and tools to enable seamless deployment of DataOS, including upgrade and rollback mechanisms.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
3-7 years of proven experience
  • Public Cloud Platforms: Demonstrated expertise in working with industry-leading public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and proficient in configuring and leading cloud services to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Infrastructure Provisioning: Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform, and a proven ability to automate resource provisioning, configuration, and management for consistent and reproducible deployments.
  • Compute Containers: Expertise in container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and proficiency in Docker containerization, including creating, deploying, and managing containers across diverse environments.
  • CI/CD Methods and Technologies: Proficient in implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, like automate the software delivery process.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana for real-time visibility into system performance.
  • Networking: Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot virtual networks, subnets, and security groups to ensure a secure and scalable infrastructure.
  • Security Best Practices: Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, with the ability to implement robust security measures and configure identity and access management (IAM) policies, encryption, and other security controls.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $68,700 - $1900,100.
