Apex Systems is looking for a Senior Data Engineer in a fully remote work setting.
Responsibilities
Create terraform scripts to provision resources in the AWS cloud
Perform app server, web server and install vendor's application on EC2 instance
Co-ordinate with vendor's tech team to ensure cloud infrastructure and configuration is optimum for application installation Installation of vendor's database in AWS cloud
Co-ordinate with networking team to ensure right controls are applied
Execute performance testing on the infrastructure and perform tuning as needed
Bring AWS expertise in the team and present POV on data backup and recovery strategies etc.
Lead a team of engineers and should be empowered to make dev decisions on a daily basis
Work with Solution Architect for any architectural relevant decision-making
Experience on Microsoft technologies on AWS Cloud - Windows VM, Windows batch scheduler service, service accounts, Microsoft based AD auth, .NET Core 6
Experience lifting and shifting monolithic applications and data from on-prem to AWS cloud
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering, or relevant technical field Related academic exposure or work experience in data engineering, data analytics, data warehousing, database administration, data integration or business intelligence Related academic exposure or work experience in developing distributed applications Related academic exposure or work experience with Linux operations and development, including basic commands and shell scripting Related academic exposure or work experience with execution of DevOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery Knowledge of SQL and basic database queries Results oriented with a strong customer focus Ability to work within a team environment Willing to learn and keep pace with the latest technology advances and quickly grasp new technologies to support the environment and contribute to project deliverables
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. computer science, math, engineering Understanding of big data and real time streaming analytics processing architecture and ecosystems Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools Software development experience in relevant programming languages (i.e. Java, Python, Scala, Node.js) Relevant technology or platform certification (AWS, Microsoft, etc.)
Required Skills : Strong AWS cloud, RDS, Redshift, terraform, and EC2 experience
