Remote Flex Pack Business Development Officer
Remote BDO opportunity with a family-owned flexible packaging company with over 30 years in business. Newly-created position due to growth. Seeking backgrounds in technical sales--flex pack is a plus.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Business Development Officer ( BDO ) is responsible for expanding market share by generating new business leads and converting them into clients. BDO will drive new sales opportunities by identifying key growth industries and continue building strong relationships with key stakeholders. BDO must deeply know, understand, and articulate our packaging core business value proposition and successfully address clients packaging needs.
This will be a remote position with frequent domestic travel for business development activities and presentations.
Responsibilities:
Initiate the sales process through customer prospecting to find, qualify, and close revenue-generating leads.
Responsible for growing business presence and market share in the designated markets.
Coordinate prospective opportunities with business management to determine the optimal mix of services and pricing.
Collaborate and consult with colleagues to work through complex issues.
Stay informed of market conditions, product innovations, and the competitive landscape.
Review and analyzes reporting, including special order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data
Attend and report sales progress during weekly virtual Sales Coordination Meeting with the Head Office
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of B2B consultative sales experience in the flexible packaging industry and/or business development.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and execution of successful development strategies.
Strong relationship-building skills with the decision-makers and addressing their unique needs.
Strong business analysis skills. Ability to collect and compile relevant industry data and trends. Experience in researching and identifying new markets.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and use of sales software
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
