We have a Natural/Adabas Developer contract opportunity in Jackson, Mississippi. The anticipated duration of this assignment is through June 1, 2025.

The Natural/Adabas Developer must commit to perform work on-site at our clients' offices for the initial 4 weeks and then after that may switch to remote working.

Our client is seeking a talented and highly effective Natural/Adabas Developer to join their development and support team. They are currently supporting, enhancing, and maintaining the statewide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination system. The enhancements include using latest technologies, as needed, to integrate with other systems on different platforms, and the automation of current processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Programming experience in Natural, and the utilization of Adabas.
• 10 years of experience running Natural processes in batch via JCL and/or SCL, and online.
• 10 years of experience in the analysis, design, and programming of large or complex development projects on large-scale IBM Mainframe/Linux systems.
• 4 years of experience with automated eligibility determination systems.
• 3 years ability to provide subject matter expertise on system architectures.
• 3 years ability to provide recommendations regarding enhancements to the systems and processes.
• 3 years of experience developing, maintaining, and updating documentation for procedures, policies, and processes.
• 3 years of experience training end users on software.

Desirable Qualifications

• 2 years knowledge of SNAP and TANF eligibility and economic assistance policies and procedures, and current state and federal mandates as implemented or like those in MAVS, the Mississippi statewide eligibility determination system.
• 2 years of experience interpreting, designing, and implementing federal and state mandates in Linux systems such as MAVS.
• Any skills or experience that would be helpful for this assignment. Examples: Previous supervisory experience, WebLogic experience helpful, etc.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
• Strong oral and written communication, and time management skills.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently but effectively with a team to accomplish team projects and solve technical problems.
• Ability to conceive and/or develop creative solutions and possess strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SCRUM or Iteration methodologies.
• Experience with Jira Software.
• Ability to work on many projects at one time.
• Experience converting outdated technologies to new cutting-edge technologies.
