Team (Project) Introduction

Join a pioneering team of highly skilled engineers dedicated to helping the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) achieve their digital transformation objectives for delivering better healthcare to Veterans. We are seeking an experienced developer in the Microsoft Power Platform to design and develop a variety of solutions that include the Integrated Critical Staffing Program, a solution that enables the VA to find candidates and fill critically-needed clinical and non-clinical healthcare positions from industry partners and a solution to provide the Office of Healthcare Transformation with programmatic oversight, analytics, and dashboard reporting for all aspects of their healthcare-related initiatives. This role is crucial in supporting the VA Healthcare Transformation Program, aimed at optimizing healthcare services for our veterans.

An Engineer 3 typically plans and directs research or development work on complex projects, along with engaging various parties in design and development. Costs and recommendations of new components may also involve part of the job scope. Performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. An Engineer 3 oversees the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. An Engineer 3 has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. An Engineer 3 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges(link removed)>
Functional Job (LCAT) Information

The Senior Microsoft Power Platform Developer is part of a high-performance team of engineers responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions that will enable VA to achieve the Healthcare Transformation goals and improve Veteran Care. The Senior Microsoft Power Platform Developer will work with a variety of stakeholders to solicit and elaborate functional requirements, develop innovative solutions, implement them and support the end users of these solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to gather requirements and create solutions help the VA staff critical medical positions and provide the VA's Office of Healthcare Transformation with analytic insight into all of their program initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Leverage Power Automate to streamline data processes and workflows.
  • Develop front-end applications using Power Apps and Dataverse tables as the back-end.
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and testing.
  • Ensure all solutions are cloud-ready and optimized for use in Microsoft's Dataverse.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring the seamless adoption of new technologies.
  • Keep abreast of latest Microsoft Power Platform updates and trends to ensure the VA is leveraging the best tools available.
  • Contribute to the creation of system documentation and user manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a developer on the Microsoft Power Platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps and cloud Dataverse ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and also execute projects independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate about the mission of serving our veterans and enhancing the VA's healthcare system.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Preferred/Desired

  • Currently cleared for Public Trust at tier 2 moderate level or higher
  • Prior experience working on healthcare or government-related projects.
  • Familiarity with VA systems and operations.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $96,370 - $125,000
