About the Role:

Management of all valuation, environmental operations and order pipeline for the Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) department. Provides senior level oversight and training to the appraisal coordinator team with emphasis in quality and efficiency. Assists REVS Leadership with the procurement of all valuation and environmental products delivered to or develop by REVS within established turn-times. Responsible for timely processing and payment approval of vendor invoicing, vendor contract renewals, and monthly metrics reporting. Is the senior liaison between internal lines of business and REVS providing clarity surrounding the procurement process. Monitors the reconsideration, complaint, and escalation process thru expedient resolution. Assist Chief Appraiser with development and updating relevant policy, procedures, panel management, and various projects as needed.

  • Supervises, triages, and delegates the work functions and activities of valuation and environmental coordinators.
  • Oversee second level issues in absence of Valuation Manager or Chief Appraiser, as needed.
  • Complete performance reviews for direct reports; approves leave and timesheets; directs, guides, and approves training, and develops/mentors goal setting. Assists in the daily schedule of tasks needed to be completed by the appraisal coordinator team and which coordinator will be assigned to each
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for the REVS valuation and environmental fulfillment process. Manage the order process from engagement to completion and distribution handled by the entire appraisal coordinator team this includes directly managing complex, atypical and urgent assignments. Manages the FNMA, Freddie and FHA appraisal UCDP portal process with internal platform and partners with non-complex residential appraisal division for policy and process alignment.
  • Advanced knowledge of REVS system of record. Coordinate system changes, issues, and contract renewal as appropriate.
  • Review order pipeline and monitor daily reports for new, outstanding, past due and completed appraisals.
  • Assist the Chief Appraiser and REVS Leadership Team in the development, writing, and implementing REVS policy and operations procedures and/or workflows. This also includes training procedures and documentation for REVS staff as well as internal business partners within Umpqua.
  • Required to maintain internal service level agreements and provide professional customer service
  • In partnership with REVS peers, oversee the valuation and environmental vendor panel. Assist in the identification and recruitment of vendors that may be needed for certain geographic locations and for specialty type assignments. Direct approved appraiser panel administration with internal system and external AMC vendors.
  • Assist with Vendor eligibility and/or disciplinary actions, as needed
  • Administer the reconciliation of vendor invoices within REVS system of record and coordinate timely payment. Assure vendor invoicing correctly reflects contract and statement of work. Oversee and assist with invoice questions and errors from appraisers, loan officers and accounting, which may include researching invoice and payment information within accountings platform.
  • Facilitate support for production staff including status updates, condition work orders, appraisal issues and locating appraisers for transactions outside typical lending area.
  • Respond to 1st level appraisal/environmental related questions that are technical in nature and have the understanding as to when to escalate appropriately.
  • Assists with tasks related to audit and issues management.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position and keep up to date on regulation changes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations that apply to your position.

About You:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a lending service related position. Must have an extensive knowledge of a regulatory compliant appraisal process.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a lead role and managing day-to-day operations; experience in demonstrating persistence, patience, creativity, initiative and pro-active problem solving.

  • Advanced understanding of overall department operations
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding appraisal lending guidelines and federal regulations, including appraiser independence
  • Advanced knowledge of internal valuation procurement platforms
  • Demonstrate interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, a high level of organization, attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Advanced problem solving skills.

Work Style:

Umpqua Bank offers a Flexible Workplace Program and this opportunity comes with the Flex Office work style which is working in office from a designated company location three days weekly with flexibility to work remotely up to two days weekly.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $64,450.00-$130,682.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
