Responsibilities:

  • Excellent employment opportunity for a Research Associate/Technician in the Waltham, MA area. (onsite)
  • We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Research Associate/Technician to support our dynamic drug discovery and oncology combination programs.
  • Support cell panel screening and our site's flow cytometry shared resource laboratory.
  • A successful candidate must be familiar with general cell biology including laboratory techniques and have direct working experience in handling cell culture and performing related tasks using aseptic technique.
  • Experience with flow cytometry is a plus but not required.
  • Supporting cell-panel screening, including all aspects of mammalian cell culture, as well as dosing compounds and reading assay endpoints, including basic calculations and data analysis.
  • Supporting the flow cytometry shared resource laboratory, including instrument maintenance, maintaining consumable stocks, and running a Sony MA900 sorter.
  • Demonstrated and proficient skills in standard mammalian cell culture procedures and associated aseptic techniques in addition to maintenance of tissue culture facilities.
  • Accurate and reliable record keeping including database management, batch records, notebooks, and all pertinent documentation.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to all safety and company policies.

Experience:

  • Degree (AS/BS/BA) in Biology, Biotechnology, or other relevant area of Scientific training with 2 3 years relevant work experience consistent with tissue culture and other laboratory protocols, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Experience carrying our routine laboratory tasks.
  • Knowledge of safe laboratory and biosafety protocols and procedures.
  • Experience running and supporting laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience training other Scientists in techniques and technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong preference given to those candidates with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Preference given to candidates familiar and/or experienced with flow cytometry.
  • Applicant must be willing and able to work reliably on a flexible work schedule, Monday Friday and some weekends, to meet the demands.
