Institution Description The Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University is a leading research-intensive medical school located in the heart of Chicago, IL. In addition to offering a full-time MD program, graduate medical education, and continuing medical education, the school is committed to research, patient care, and community service. Affiliated with major hospitals, the school provides patient care to thousands of individuals every year and plays an integral part in the communities it serves. The laboratory is situated in the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center with an excellent reputation in cancer research. You will work with outstanding core facilities on the downtown and Evanston campuses and collaborate with colleagues in a neighboring university. Opportunities for mentoring students on this and other lab projects exist.
Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Research Technologist II. The Research Technologist will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments related to T cell manipulation, adoptive transfer, patient-derived xenograft models of disease and immune monitoring. You will be analyzing data, reporting findings, and assisting with research projects. This role will require working in a team-oriented environment with other researchers, students and postdoctoral fellows under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications - Laboratory Skills: experience with lab techniques, procedures, and equipment
- Analytical Skills: ability to analyze and interpret data
- Data Analysis and representation: ability to use software such as Graphpad, R or SAS, and Microsoft Office
- Research: experience in a research setting, understanding of scientific methodology
- Immunology: a passion for Cancer Immunology research is a must
- Microbiology: experience working with microorganisms is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Biology or a related field
- Experience in a laboratory research setting is preferred
