The Role

We have an exciting new opening for a Retail Development Manager in our Licensing & Merchandising team to help develop and implement retail strategies for Moonbugs licensed products. We are a young, high-growth business, and this is a wonderful opportunity to join a fast-paced, fun company.

The Retail Development Manager will report to the Director or Retail Development and will collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and execute sell-in solutions across the Moonbug portfolio to drive growth of Moonbug licensed products across hardlines, softlines and consumables at retail.

The ideal candidate is a go-getter who understands the unique nature of the licensing consumer products business and the components needed to develop and drive successful go to market strategies for retail.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, have great communication and relationship building. The candidate must also be proactive, strategic and great at working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This role will report full-time ON-SITE at our West Hollywood Office.

Requirements

  • Formulate and implement retail strategies that secure placement of Moonbug products and drive growth at retail.
  • Manage & develop retailer relationships, coordinating with retail marketing, brand marketing and franchise teams to present key updates on Moonbug properties.
  • Conduct regular buyer and licensee meetings, product/program pitches and post-analysis to ensure that the Moonbug franchises receive prominent placement and support.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to help identify cross category retail opportunities that achieve Moonbug business objectives and deliver against retailer priorities
  • Assist the Retail Director on the development of annual account plans and joint pitches.
  • Take an active role in product planning and development to align with account strategies that help achieve financial goals.
  • Develop a regular cadence of reporting on POS performance at key retailer accounts, share out
  • insights with the leadership team.
  • Manage a regular interaction with retail analytics and data & insights teams to align data with retail strategies
  • Partner with internal retail marketing, franchise and content teams to identify product trends and develop marketing programs to drive sales.
  • Be an expert in market, industry, competitor and retailer trends and share expertise and insights with internal partners as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of retail and merchandising, entertainment, licensing sales and experience in brand/consumer packaged goods.
  • Strong understanding of retail sales and retail marketing strategies, brand and property positioning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, relationship building skills.
  • Capable of working independently and managing a variety of initiatives/issues simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership skills, flexible/adaptable and able to collaborate and influence at all levels within the organization
  • Sense of humor and desire to have fun!
