Title: SAP BW Developer
Location: Houston, TX - Must be Local
Duration: Long Term Contract (3 days a week onsite )
Job Description:
- BW Developer with minimum 5 years of experience developing Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytical Solutions for a long-term project starting ASAP. Candidates must be local to Houston & come into the office at least 3x per week.
- on call every 2 months for production support.
- Must have 3+ years' experience utilizing SAP BW and SAP Analysis for office to implement complex analytical solutions which may access data from multiple sources.
Responsibilities include:
Providing input and guidance on proposing, evaluating, and selecting appropriate design alternatives which meet requirements and are consistent with our current standards and processes
Participating in business requirements and design review sessions
Designing, as well as providing consulting and oversight for the design of data model solutions
Extracting, transforming and loading data into SAP BW system
Developing, testing, debugging BW data loads and reporting solutions
Capturing and migrating transports across development and testing landscapes to production
Developing documentation including but not limited to test scripts, health checks, etc.
Mentoring and transferring knowledge to less experienced team members
Assist with developing estimates and describing solutions during the proposal process
Experience with root cause analysis in the context of production support responsibilities
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience developing Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytical Solutions
3+ years' experience utilizing SAP BW and SAP Analysis for office to implement complex analytical solutions which may access data from multiple sources
Experience creating extract/transform/load processes from data sources including SAP R/3, SAP BW, (link removed), MS SQL Server as well as other data sources
Solid experience developing complex data models
Experience in Chemicals industry a plus
Knowledge of Tableau or Qlikview a plus but not required
Knowledge of (link removed) a plus but not required
Knowledge of Control-M scheduling tool a plus but not required
Skills:
Developing effective Multi-dimensional data models
Developing front end reports using SAP Query Designer and Analysis for Office technology
Utilizing ABAP language to meet complex business requirements
Well-developed analytical trouble-shooting skills
Development/Testing/Processes:
Extract, transform and load data from multiple data sources into the SAP BW System
Design, build, test and debug BW solutions based upon specified requirements
Good understanding of implementation standards
Use of Rev-trac system for migrating transports throughout landscape
Understanding of best practices for deployment process
Tune data loads and reporting for efficient performance

Comfortable interfacing with end users
Thinks clearly and calmly under pressure
