What Youll Do

Clarkstons SAP Senior Project Managers lead teams in configuring and implementing their respective SAP systems and serve as senior business systems managers on client engagements. As expert advisors, they lead their team in the review of the clients current business processes and computer systems, oversee the implementation of the SAP system to support the new business processes, and ensure successful and timely delivery of the project.

As an SAP Senior Project Manager at Clarkston you will:

  • Apply strong knowledge of the business processes and development lifecycle for SAP implementations
  • Be accountable for the successful delivery of all project phases, releases, and project components for SAP projects
  • Be responsible for overall quality, engagement, and adherence to the schedule and budget for the project
  • Coordinate a project timeline with teams to ensure checkpoints and goals are met to the clients satisfaction
  • Manage overall resource allocation and capacity planning for the project
  • Report project level status, metrics, issues and risks and manage overall completion and sign-off on project deliverables
  • Lead and manage small teams implementing business process improvements and implementing SAP systems for our clients
  • Conduct solution architecting workshops with business managers
  • Work with client staff and end-users to determine the functional requirements for the system within SAP
  • Create detailed systems documentation, test scripts, and presentations
  • Leverage business and technical expertise to address technology architecture, blueprinting, data analysis, business modeling, technical design, application development, integration, and enablement
  • Configure the SAP system to meet the business requirements
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other analysts and client personnel assigned to the projects
  • Assist with scoping prospective engagements and developing proposals
  • Conduct knowledge sharing and serve as a go-to subject matter expert for other company functional staff in support of client project deliverables
  • Be available to answer questions that may arise from past or current clients
  • Define and develop best practices, solution demonstrations, and functional configurations within the Clarkston Labs environment to support current clients and sales pursuits
  • Develop new Clarkston Consulting service capabilities and enhance existing company service capabilities; activities may include developing methodologies or tools to support current and prospective clients
  • May also develop training materials, conduct knowledge sharing sessions, and contribute to Clarkstons marketing and/or thought leadership activities

Requirements

What Were Looking For:

An ideal SAP Senior Project Manager candidate would have the following qualifications and experience:

  • At least two (2) full life cycle implementations as an SAP Project Manager with multi-module implementations (Finance, Sales, Production, Purchasing, Warehouse)
  • A minimum of eight (8) years prior SAP consulting or equivalent industry experience
  • At least three (3) years of experience in proposal and business case development
  • Global SAP implementation experience working with multi-national companies in multi-cultural environments is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong client services orientation and accustomed to taking an active role in executing engagements and project plans/tasks
  • Excellent team building, mentoring, and leadership abilities
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to present and write at publication quality level to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Achievement oriented and entrepreneurial
  • Have a deep understanding of SAP, including multiple modules, SAP best practices, and the ability to advise clients on these practices
  • Ability to manage the project from planning through delivery while staying on schedule and within budget
  • Possess capacity to understand clients business processes and create solutions addressing the current and future needs of the organization
  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline

Travel Requirement

Travel is an integral part of this role and is estimated to average 30-50%. This may vary based upon client and project needs. When not traveling, consultants work from their home office. Relocation is not required.
