School Based Manager - Wendover Campus - Charlotte, NC



The manager of School Based Programs will ensure that Thompson’s school based mental health services are recognized as the premiere in the area. The supervisor will drive performance and productivity within the department, be responsible for ensuring clinical outcomes and client satisfaction are up to Thompson’s high standards.



Duties include:




  • Conduct monthly staff meetings with SBMH clinicians to ensure information is effectively and accurately being disseminated across the department; Ensure referrals are appropriate and assigned accordingly per school and clinician. trouble shoot any concerns from CMS.

  • Process specific CMS data reporting regarding client’s referred, intakes completed, number of clients in therapy, outcomes, discharges, etc

  • To meet with CMS staff for managing referrals, ensuring processes and services are appropriate for the client/family; to trouble school any CMS concerns.

  • To provide trainings for CMS staff, as needed; ex: ACES training; Attend school staffing/trainings as requested.

  • Recruit, interview, hire and train new therapists to meet the ongoing needs of the department and community

  • Have active working knowledge of the department’s budget regarding productivity, expenses and goals

  • Employ strategies, communication and accountability to drive productivity across the department

  • Ensure internal and external standards are met regarding medical records, documentation and general treatment provided.



Education Requirement: A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field and full licensure as an Independent Practitioner is required. One-year postgraduate experience in a clinical setting with child/adolescent population preferred. Preferred experience with child mental health and issues of abuse and neglect. Must have valid North Carolina Driver’s License and meet credentialing and privileging standards. The major share of time for this position is at the one of the designated outpatient locations as well as the school locations throughout Mecklenburg county. This also includes home visits (for in-home therapy when appropriate) and locations at designated community sites including schools. Hours for all SBMH Therapists are flexible and vary according to client need. This position does include evening work, and Occasional Weekends.





A valid NC driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and clean driving record are required. All potential job candidates must pass a

drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required. No calls please.
