Position Responsibilities:

• Data Modeling: The Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing the data architecture for the new TOPS system. This will involve developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring that they are aligned with business requirements, and optimizing them for performance and scalability.
• Data Integration: The Data Architect will also be responsible for designing and implementing data integration processes between the new TOPS system and other systems in the DDOT ecosystem. This will involve developing data integration strategies, mapping data elements, and ensuring that data quality is maintained.
• Data Governance: The Data Architect will work with the OCIO leadership team to establish data governance policies and procedures, including data security and privacy requirements. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the TOPS system and associated initiatives comply with relevant data regulations.
• Data Analysis: The Data Architect will be responsible for developing data analysis and reporting solutions for the new TOPS system. This will involve working with stakeholders to identify key performance indicators and developing dashboards and reports to monitor them.
• Team Management: The Data Architect will be responsible for managing a team of data analysts and developers. This will involve assigning tasks, providing guidance and mentorship, and ensuring that the team delivers high-quality work on time and within budget.
• Provides assessments of technical and operational practices based on leading industry standards specific to the requested technology.
• Plans, organizes, and conducts research in a variety of areas, such as new or existing products, science, social science, law, or business in support of an IT initiative.
• Searches sources such as reference works, literature, documents, newspapers, statistical records, and other sources of information. May use Internet, Intranet, magazines, periodicals, journals, and other media to perform research.
• Analyzes information and statistical data to prepare reports and studies for use by professionals.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

• Master's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience

• Data modelling and database design - 5+ years of experience

• Data warehousing and business intelligence tools - 3+ years of experience
